A Christian
Several years ago, a preacher from out-of-state accepted a call to a church in Houston , Texas . Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, 'You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it.' Then he thought, 'Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount? Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet.'
When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, and then he handed the quarter to the driver and said, 'Here, you gave me too much change.'
The driver, with a smile, replied, 'Aren't you the new preacher in town?'
'Yes' he replied.
'Well, I have been thinking a lot lately about going somewhere to worship. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday.'
When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, 'Oh God, I almost sold your Son for a quarter.'
Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read. This is a really scary example of how much people watch us as Christians, and will put us to the test! Always be on guard -- and remember -- You carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself 'Christian.'
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.
I'm glad a friend forwarded this to me as a reminder. So, I choose to forward it to you - my friend. God bless you; I hope you are having a wonderful day!
If you don't pass this on to anybody, nothing bad will happen; but, if you do, you will have ministered to someone.
The Will of God will never take you to where the Grace of God will not PROTECT you...
Stay FAITHFUL and Be GRATEFUL

My dad ..ups and downs of the hospital...
It has been a long weekend of ups and downs and this told and that said and finally today they are coming up with more details of what they feel is happening...my dad they feel had a stroke a few weeks ago when we noticed something was wrong with him...then the stares and sitting not talking were mini seizures happening and when they did the MRI a few weeks ago that was the spot of the stroke on the brain...then they did another MRI yesterday and there have been changes and now some bleeding is occurring at that spot...then they did another PSA test and before his test came back at 22 and now it is over 200 so they did a bone scan to see if the cancer has spread and we will not know till later on about this. But they are putting him on seizure medicine and his temps have spiked up to 104.0 as of last night and he has had to be on a cooling mat with ice bags around him..he has been a trooper through out all of this..My mom is hanging in there and Lindsay and my mom and I are switching going up to feed him ...he will have to start physical therapy and to get his strength back up and that is why he was so lethargic from the stroke...Now our prayers are that the bone scan does not show anything bad...then my mother's kitchen has been torn up and the carpenter had been doing all the repairs and I so want my dad to come home as he is so excited about his new kitchen as he has wanted this for so many years..My mom and dad have had so many calls and people visiting him from church and friends it is so awesome to see the outpouring of love shown to them at this time from their Christian Friends...they are truly loved by many and I have had so many people share so many stories about my mom and dad..it is awesome to hear them...
I got a call from Lorraine at CEF and they are going to get some help for us and come and put my mother's kitchen back together again for her as my mom will never ask for help so that will be such a relief as it is all over the place and the carpenter should be done tomorrow...please pray for my family especially my siblings it has been a very stressful time and for my mom...hugs, cheryl God is working!
PS Lindsay is doing amazing! She looks so good and to think how much pain she was in just a few weeks ago is so hard to believe...

Thankful for my mom...A Christian mother!
My mom spoke for the first time that I ever heard her this past Saturday at her church for the Ladies Spring Banquet and she is going to be 84 next month..she did an awesome job! She told me she was so nervous but you never would have known...she didn't even look at her notes! I was amazed ...I have been very fortunate to grow up in a Christian home my entire life and today I got to hear my mom share how she didn't grow up in a Christian home and it wasn't until she was married that she ever really got to go to church...
My parents have been married this month for 62 years. My mom spoke on loving your neighbor and your friends or enemies...it was neat to hear her share how some neighbors really were hard to love and she had to learn to love them....they have lived in the same neighborhood for over 50 years. My mom has been involved in Child Evanglism Fellowship for over 38 years and she has taught so many Good News Clubs, Awana's, Sunday School Classes and she is involved in Christian Women's Clubs...she still teaches Bible Studies and is always on the go...Last weekend Child Evanglism even gave her an award and are going to give it out each year and call it the Ruth Johnson Achievment Award....for all of her faithful years of giving! She still works out at the Womens Workout Center and is there oldest member. She faithfully goes at least 4 times a week to work out...
I have to say my mom is one amazing person....her mom lived to be 101 and just passed away a year ago..These were my mom's favorite verses and she used them today...it was cute at first she had a huge fresh basket of fresh fruit and asked if anyone wanted it...everyone just sat there and she kept asking if anyone wanted it and finally someone said she would love it..my mom told her all she had to do was come and get it...then everyone was like wow she really just gave that with nothing attached! My mom shared that is how God is...I thought that was so neat....hugs, cheryl
Give your moms a hug this week if she is around or near...they are special people to us and sometimes we take them for granted...
Psalms 92:14English Revised VersionThey shall still bring forth fruit in old age; they shall be full of sap and green
John 15:12-1712 ‘This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. 13No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. 14You are my friends if you do what I command you. 15I do not call you servants* any longer, because the servant* does not know what the master is doing; but I have called you friends, because I have made known to you everything that I have heard from my Father. 16You did not choose me but I chose you. And I appointed you to go and bear fruit, fruit that will last, so that the Father will give you whatever you ask him in my name. 17I am giving you these commands so that you may love one another.
